Daytime Courses

WSET Level 1 and 2 are offered as daytime courses. Daytime courses are held from 9 am to 5 pm and scheduled on a consecutive day or weekly basis.

Daytime courses are ideal for candidates travelling from outside of Edinburgh as it reduces the travelling requirement. It also allows for courses to be completed more quickly.

Students will receive:

  • WSET study materials two weeks in advance of the course
  • Access to the course¬†Dropbox folder containing presentations and review materials two weeks in advance of the course.
  • A pre-course reading list.
  • Access to a tutor by email or telephone Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm unless otherwise specified throughout the period of the course.

Daytime courses, particularly consecutive daytime courses, are naturally intensive. I would recommend that students attending a consecutive daytime course to clear their diaries during the period of the course.

In order to thoroughly prepare the student for the examination review sessions are held at the beginning and end of each course day. Reading activities and/or assignments are provided for students at the end of each course day to be completed before the next course day.

The examination is held at the end of the final day.

Glassware and spittoons are provided for all students attending daytime courses.

It is essential that candidates book by the booking deadline of two weeks before the start of the course. This ensures candidates receive their study packs and course material in sufficient time to complete the pre-course reading programme.

Courses are offered over the following periods:

WSET Level 1 Award in Wines – 1 day

WSET Level 1 Award in Spirits – 1 day

WSET Level 1 Award in Wine Service – 2 days

WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits – 3 days

WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits – 2.5 days
