WSET Level 2 and 3 courses are offered as evening courses. Evening courses are held in Edinburgh city centre, starting at 6:30 pm.
Classes last for 2 to 2.5 hours and are usually structured around a theory lecture followed by a tasting session of 5 to 8 samples specifically selected to back up the theory discussed.
Evening courses are highly recommended for the benefits to the studying process. Students have a longer period over which to study allowing more time for thorough preparation for the examination. Students benefit from regularly meeting and networking with like-minded students.
Students will receive:
- WSET study materials on the first day of the course
- Weekly assignments – feedback will be given on all assignments submitted, progress will be monitored via the assignments.
- Access to a tutor by email or telephone Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm unless otherwise specified
- Access to the course Dropbox folder containing presentations and review materials.
Students will need to bring 6 x 21.5 cl ISO tasting glasses and a spittoon with them. I recommend Wineware for the purchase of glasses and spittoons.
The examination is held on the last class of the course.
Courses are offered over the following periods:
WSET Level 2 Award in Wines & Spirits – 9 weeks
WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits – 7 weeks
WSET Level 3 Award in Wines – 16 weeks
